![]() - an exploration of dialect and life in the North-EastPROJECT CONCLUDES NOVEMBER 2007 'Wor Language' will fulfill its second year of operation with the publication of three books on dialect in the community, through Northumbria University Press. Each study combines dialect word lists with work on the historical/technical context and illustrative songs and stories, and will serve as a permanent record of the project. As well as the books and the website, the spirit of dialect research and conservation continues through the Durham & Tyneside Dialect Group, and extra information is always welcome. We take this opportunity to thank all those individuals who have responded to our newsletters and website, and the community groups and libraries throughout the region that have hosted displays and talks. North-East dialect - as language and literature - is a fascinating and exciting zone of continued discovery.
